"I was like, 'No, maybe he's just too pretty. I don't want to be with someone who's better looking than me. That's, like, awkward,' " the 17-year-old actress recounts on what she first thinks about Liam. She goes on to recall that Tish, who served as an executive producer of "The Last Song", was the one trying to convince her to go for it. She says, "My mom was like, 'No, he is cute--he is!' "
While Miley talks about her mom's crush on her boyfriend, Liam discusses on having to kiss the Disney star in front of her family for the movie. "Her mom was watching," he says. "Her grandma was also watching, which was really funny. She was on set everyday and she'd be right at the monitor with the headphones on...She should have been directing the film. She knew more about it than anyone."
Both Miley and Liam sit down with Entertainment Tonight to promote their upcoming romantic drama
"The Last Song". Beside the two stars, Kevin also talks with cast members Greg Kinnear and Kelly Preston. Greg, in particular, jokes about this father-and-daughter relationship with Miley, saying that he is "very protective" with her when it comes to boys.
"The Last Song" centers its story around a rebellious young woman who is sent to spend the summer with her estranged father. During her summer stay, she meets a successful beach volleyball player, who has his dream set on the Ivy League, and develops romance with him. This movie is set to hit theaters across the U.S. on March 31.
